WHY MAS Portfolio Tutoring Preparatory Program?

Master Art Studio is proud to offer a unique undergraduate preparation program—Art Portfolio Tutoring entirely dedicated to building portfolios for highly competitive art high schools and colleges in the United States, Canada and Europe as well as guiding a student when creating artwork for art competitions. All program instructors have Master’s degrees+ in art studies backed by years of experience. Our school is conveniently located right here in northern New Jersey.

In this program our goal is to give students all the necessary tools to create scholarship worthy portfolios from start to finish.

Our portfolio tutoring classes will only accept those students who are actively working towards being accepted at competitive art high schools, colleges or working on art for competitions. Classes are very small, allowing our teachers to give each participant personalized attention and our students to develop a supportive, like-minded peer support system with their classmates. Throughout this class students will get to observe and participate in the critique process, providing them with insight into how their portfolio compares to other applicants.

Unique Program with proven results

Throughout the course of this vigorous program, students will elevate their existing skills while also begin developing the crucial skills of critical thinking and concept development.

Portfolio will include ten core fundamental works, with an additional ten in different media, specific to their interests and program of choice. Our foundational skills teaching model allows for all of the learned skills to be transferred into any creative field of choice.

The key to standing out in the enormous sea of applicants lies in the roots of our program:

• Developing strong foundational skills in observational drawing and painting techniques
• Composition and anatomy-based understanding of form and shape, along with techniques of shading
• Dedication to fostering curiosity and experimentation with different media
• Develop critical thinking and conceptual development
• Personalized guidance creating unique portfolio for each and every student, based on their individual creativity and strength
• Field trip involving drawing activities outside of the studio (museums, street drawing, etc.)
